Growing 'green' rice

Half of the world’s stomachs, particularly in Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, depend heavily on one staple food crop: rice. Beginning this summer, 12 rural communities throughout the state will get the chance to explore the past, present and future of water’s environmental and cultural impact in Arizona and beyond when the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street traveling exhibit “Water/Ways” visits their town.
